Glass experts replace fleet with LEZ complaint vehicles

Ekko Glass, the environmentally friendly glass waste collection company has replaced its Scottish Fleet with new custom built LEZ compliant Glass collection vehicles. LEZ (low emission zones) legislations came into force in 2023 in Glasgow and will start in Edinburgh in June 2024. This has forced waste collections companies to avoid city centres or face large fines. Ekko Managing Director, Brian Williamson said, "Ekko already save over 14 million kilos of CO2 being released into the atmosphere each year with our efficient glass waste collection systems. This investment in our fleet further reduces the impact on collection glass for recycling. We are delighted to lead the way in the glass collection sector."
